The Room Where It Happens

A game of collaboration, negotiation, rhetoric, and gleefully throwing your friends to the wolves.

The players are leaders of conflicted nations, brought to the negotiating table by a threat looming so large it puts them all in grave danger—The Empire and its insatiable hunger for conquest. Will you face the common enemy together or will everyone only look out for themselves? Who will rise above the petty differences and who will betray the others?

The goal is to survive.

Play time: 60-120 minutes
Players: 4-6 (GM-less)
Setup: 6-sided die, two decks of 52 cards, pen and paper

We called the player factions ‘Nations’ and the enemy ‘Empire’ to enable a broad range of settings but feel free to adapt these to your needs. Maybe you want to play as trade unions threatened by a mega corporation, as galactic leaders against an AI uprising, or perhaps governments facing the climate crisis. It’s all up to you!
